Headquartered in the Indiana town of Mishawaka (named after Princess Mishawaka, daughter of a Shawnee chief), MFB Corp. is the holding company for MFB Financial, a bank with about a dozen branches in Elkhart, Hamilton, and St. Joseph counties. Targeting individuals and local businesses, MFB Financial offers such standard retail banking services as checking and savings accounts, CDs, IRAs, and credit cards. Residential mortgages account for about half of the bank's loan portfolio; business loans, including commercial mortgages, make up about 35%. The bank also writes consumer loans. MutualFirst Financial is buying MFB Corp.
