Marathon Coach, Inc. opened in September 1983. The company specialized in converting new commercial bus shells into luxury recreational vehicles and corporate coaches.
He Liked It So Much He Bought The Company!
Retired Abbott Laboratories Chairman and CEO Robert A. Schoellhorn purchased his first Marathon/Prevost in 1990. He was so impressed with the quality of his motorcoach that he purchased the company. Since 1992 the company has been owned and operated by the Schoellhorn family.
We Grew
Over the past two decades, Marathon has grown into the world’s largest and most experienced luxury bus conversion company. By producing innovative, quality coaches, along with an unwavering commitment to after-sale personalized service, Marathon has built a solid reputation as the leader in the industry.
We have produced and sold over 1,380 custom bus conversions worldwide, by far an industry record. With sales and service facilities in Oregon, Texas and Florida, we provide extraordinary support to our owners at every step – from purchase to service to remodeling.
It’s the People
Marathon’s engineers, craftspeople and designers work together to design and produce each custom coach. Our incredibly talented and dedicated employees are the reason for our success.
We Moved
We turned 30 in 2013. A year later, we marked our 20th anniversary at our custom-designed World Headquarters in Oregon. The manufacturing, sales and service facility is built on 17.5 acres! We have approximately 160,000 square feet of production space housing the specialized interior design studio, engineering hub, cabinet production, full-service exterior paint shop and nine-bay service center as well as headquarter operations.
Today
Marathon continues to grow and build coaches with the most exciting innovations. From high-tech electronics to new interior materials, we are always on the cutting edge of manufacturing – and yet, customer service and support remains the most important thing we do every day.
