Proud to have been one of the world's largest offshore drilling contractors, Pride International offered drilling services for oil and gas companies worldwide. In addition, it also provided rig management services on a variety of rigs, consisting of technical drilling assistance, personnel, repair and maintenance services and drilling operation management services. The company owned a fleet of 26 rigs, including two deepwater drillships (and two under construction), 12 semisubmersible rigs, seven jackup rigs, and two managed deepwater rigs. In 2011 the company was acquired by UK-based drilling contractor Ensco for $7.3 billion.
