Description Thompson Machinery Commerce Corporation has an abundance of Caterpillar products all across the Volunteer and the Magnolia states. The company sells, rents, and leases Caterpillar-branded mining, industrial, agricultural, construction, and forestry equipment, as well as truck and marine engines and power generation equipment. The distributor serves about 100 counties in Tennessee and Mississippi. It has centralized warehouses in LaVergne and Memphis, Tennessee, and it operates sales, rental, and service centers and a fleet of field service trucks to handle its customers' job-site needs. Chairman DeWitt C. Thompson IV's grandfather founded Thompson Machinery in 1944.
