Mission To build an AI-powered automation platform that understands, automates, and operates end-to-end processes.
Description UiPath is a leading enterprise automation software vendor that helps organizations efficiently automate business processes. Started in 2005 in Romania, UiPath has a vision to deliver the fully automated enterprise™ where companies use automation to unlock their creativity and full potential of every worker. UiPath offers an end-to-end platform for automation, combining the leading robotic process automation (RPA) solution with a full suite of capabilities that enable every organization to digitally transform its business.
We’re humble game-changers. We do big things, but we approach our work with humility. Because at UiPath, we’re doing something profound: we’re making work itself more meaningful. But we know none of this is easy, and we don’t have all the answers.
We embrace failing forward. Because we’re here to create something completely new, we’re curious, bold, and aren’t afraid to take smart risks. And we learn from our mistakes. We’re not here to do what’s been done, we’re here to constantly challenge the status quo and push boundaries.
We’re united by an ambitious purpose. Accelerating human achievement by shaping the future of work is why we get out of bed every morning. It’s what drives us. And since that’s such a lofty goal, we never stop questioning, challenging, debating—and we want our people to as well.
DocuWare offers document management and workflow automation software to companies from various industries. With it, any business documents can be digitized, archived in an audit-proof manner, and processed in order to optimize companies' core processes. Customers have trusted DocuWare for around 37 years - the company was founded in 1988 by Jürgen Biffar and Thomas Schneck and acquired by Ricoh in 2019. More than 20,000 customers now work with the software every day. The solutions of the company, which was founded in Germany, are used in almost every country in the world.
Founded in 1991, Agiloft worked on major development projects for Cisco, Compaq, 3Com, and others before launching SupportWizard in 1996.
Although we designed SupportWizard as a customer support and helpdesk application, it was so flexible that customers began extending it to meet their needs in other areas.
We soon realized how much overlap there was between enterprise applications. They all needed workflow, email integration, business rules, graphical reports, API connectors, etc. Only the data model differed from program to program. The tables, fields and workflows were specific to each application.
We saw that if we could provide a way to define custom data models which automatically inherited all the other core functionality, it would be possible to create custom business applications without reinventing the wheel each time.
The key to success was enabling this deep customization without programming: The primary cause of failure for enterprise software implementations is that the software cannot be adapted to meet evolving business requirements at a reasonable and predictable cost. Further, custom code makes systems very costly to maintain and upgrade once the original developers have left.
The vision of Agiloft was, therefore, to enable the creation of custom, enterprise-class business applications without programming. We leveraged EJB as the foundation for the adaptive platform and then built out-of-the-box applications on top of it.
These solutions implement industry best practices and benefit from the years of experience we have gained implementing a variety of solutions for our customers. Because they retain the full flexibility of the adaptive core, they can also be rapidly customized to meet any business need. With such a configurable platform, Agiloft is the only CLM company with the confidence to provide an unconditional satisfaction guarantee on the software.
In August 2020, Agiloft announced a $45 million growth equity investment from FTV Capital. This investment is being used to build on our leadership position in the rapidly growing enterprise contract and commerce lifecycle management (CCLM) space while accelerating our AI-based product development and expanding our vertical and geographic market presence.
As the global leader in CCLM software, Agiloft is trusted by large and small companies, government agencies, and academic institutions to provide significant savings in purchasing, enable more efficient legal drafting and workflow, and improve sales cycles, all while drastically lowering compliance risk.
Headquartered in Silicon Valley, we have a dedicated global enterprise sales team as well as certified partners and resellers in North America, UK, Europe, South America, New Zealand, Asia, and Africa. Our Dun & Bradstreet number is 83-607-8865.

An automation revolution
Our journey started in 2003 when our co-founder, Dan Reid, came together with two friends and former colleagues, all with backgrounds in Banking and Financial Services, and formulated an ambitious plan to revolutionize data centered processes in the industry.
Back then, automation tools were either highly technical or desktop-based; better thought of as ‘assisted manual automation’. While offering some scalability, audit, and compliance, the higher end tools operated on a slow cadence and only dedicated engineering teams could use them effectively. Meanwhile, the desktop-based variants comprised locked-in manual steps and didn’t scale adequately.
We saw an opportunity to build an enterprise grade platform that would put process automation directly into the hands of business users, reducing the reliance on technical teams. A platform that could be scaled across enterprises and would meet stringent audit and regulatory requirements.
And so, Xceptor was born.
