Our Story
At Wright-Patt Credit Union (WPCU), our mission statement is "We help people through life!" We've been passionate about serving our member-owners since 1932. In that year, workers at Wright Field in Dayton, Ohio decided to chip in 25 cents a week to help an ailing co-worker and his struggling family. Recognizing a great idea, they later took a quarter from each of their paydays to create a fund for fellow workers who might also one day need help. It was called "The Sunshine Fund". It was this shoebox of money that evolved to become today's Wright-Patt Credit Union. Now, we are the largest credit union in Ohio, with more than $9.2 billion in assets and serves over 528,432 members throughout Dayton, Cincinnati, and Columbus. Not only do we invest in our members and their families, we also invest in the communities in which you live.
