Pros

Great people to work with. Love the Grill and other benefits the company offers. It can have a very family good culture and that they put their employees first some of the time.

Cons

Pay isn't the best and for the extra work you do put in you barely get compensation. Communication from upper management is not consistent. They preach their employees come first and do that by trying to keep you happy with some free food every once in a while and some pretty cool company activities, but other than that they don't do much as far as a pay raise

1-800 CONTACTS takes every opportunity to develop and promote within, where possible based on 1) company needs and 2) operational excellence from our associates. We have promoted 9 individuals in our IT dept this year and look forward to more in the months ahead. We also pay competitively so that our engineers don't have to worry about bonuses as the amounts are already built into base salaries. We welcome any individual seeking a career development plan to chat with their People Operations Partner and company leaders.

The people, the benefits, get to do lots of interesting/new things, the hyper-focus on external customer service is amazing!

Cons

Internal customer service is not great; inequity in pay and promotions, favorites (typical office politics)

We perform regular market and internal equity analyses to remain proactive on compensation, and we love to promote from within whenever possible. These opportunities are available to all internal associates, and we are more than willing to work with unsuccessful candidates and coach in preparation of future opportunities.
