Pros

Plenty of opportunity to work on challenging projects Kitchens stocked with snacks and beverages Decent but not great salaries

Cons

Poor management No executive works more than 4 days a week. Most work 3. Very few managers of people are leaders, few are interested or capable of managing others. Antiquated executives think they're living in the age of mad men. The company president has his assistant walk his dog. Niche technology means skills developed here are not portable and its hard to hire anyone with mainstream experience. No visionaries in senior leadership. Poor [to no] product management

Pros

The people here are really smart, friendly and really make you feel welcome. The company is growing and there are lots of opportunities if you want to try out a different department or role. The culture is engaging, fast paced, and exciting. The work that 1010data does is brilliant but wouldnt be able to do it without the people and talent that they have.

Cons

As the company grows, there is less and less transparency. Due to the needs of the business and growth, they keep on adding layers and do not promote from within. They lack manager training and feedback training. Compensation wise, the company brings you in lower than what your value should be and does not really provide raises. They have one set of rules for the "general public" and a different set of exceptions for senior level people. After 15 years, you would have thought the company to be more mature and have more policies/processes and better systems in place.
