Horrible location even worse management

Pros

Small group of fun hardworking people here. If you are lazy but have a good social game this is the company for you!

Cons

Salaries way too low for location in Marin. Managers, Directors, and VPs only concerned with themselves. Zero mentoring at the company. No interest in developing hard working employees. Once you start working here you will be pidgeon holed to that task and job title. After begging for other responsibilities in order to grow, a year later you still will not get a promotion. Glad to be moving on, there are way better company's to work for, ones that appreciate their employees.

Pros

Working on great video games and getting experience on a wide variety of consoles and bug DBs. The atmosphere in the office (UK) is friendly and usually relaxed (there are stressful times here too during peak periods!). Leads and managers are competent and approachable, and they will actually listen to you if your are bringing up good ideas. There are training opportunities and fair chances to advance due to merit rather than favoritism. Annual bonus and pay rise, nice benefits, HR actually know what they are doing.

Cons

Pay is low but in range for this industry. There is the chance of getting stuck on working on the same video game for years in a row if you are assigned to the team who work on the franchise (yet, you might like that if you are a fan).

Serious management changes required

Pros

Yearly bonus. Option to live north of San Francisco and close to work (but not generally recommended for young single professionals).

Cons

As others have stated, there is a very cliquish element. There is absolutely no onboarding, and there is mass dysfunction between different departments. There is quite a bit of favoritism at play - too many employees exist that don't contribute very much, while some very talented individuals are demoralized because of lack of job growth, and very little recognition from top leadership. Senior leadership functions like they are too busy to get back to employees. Some completely ignore simple email requests. Because of the location, this place has a very hard time attracting and keeping talent - unless the employees are tied to Marin, it's pretty much impossible to keep good talent given the deficiencies that exist in this company.
