Pros

Non-existent, at least not for 3_YOE.

Cons

1. Toxic Work Environment In my experience, the culture within EDP is heavily influenced by favoritism and internal politics. Recognition does not always align with effort or capability. Unrealistic deadlines are quite common, often without proper consideration of feasibility. 2. Poor Work-Life Balance Work-life balance is a major concern. Late-night calls are frequent and often treated as normal. There is limited regard for personal time, especially when coordinating with onshore teams, which can gradually lead to burnout. 3. Product-Based Only in Name Although the company presents itself as product-based, the way EDP operates does not reflect standard product engineering practices: * Lack of consistent coding standards * Limited or inconsistent code reviews * Minimal emphasis on structured testing or QA * Strong focus on pushing changes to production quickly This makes the overall engineering environment feel unstructured. Additionally, in my observation, onshore stakeholders tend to have significant influence over decisions. Requests are often accepted without much pushback, and meetings are scheduled based on onshore availability, sometimes outside reasonable IST working hours. There appears to be limited effort from leadership to address this imbalance. 4. Limited Growth for Experienced Professionals During the interview process, there is noticeable emphasis on office facilities rather than meaningful discussions around role expectations, learning opportunities, or career growth. From my experience, the role offers limited opportunities to build new skills and may not add significant value to your long-term career progression. 5. Overhyped Perks Perks like free food are highlighted, but the quality is average and does not meaningfully offset the overall work environment. Final Verdict This organization may work for freshers looking to get started, but for experienced professionals, especially in EDP, it may lead to high stress with limited growth opportunities. It’s worth carefully evaluating other options before making a decision.
