Cons

Low employee morale. Senior management makes superficial attempts, but is unable to substantively address employee workplace concerns.

A+E does not care about their employees

Pros

-Fantastic coworkers. The staff is close-knit and often enjoy happy hours together -Flexible hours

Cons

-The staff is close-knit mainly due to the fact that they bond over the constant disappointment of working at A+E -Upper management only cares about themselves and has little regard for employees unless their title is Director or higher -The 'permalance' nature of many employees' positions leads to competition, bitterness, and downright sadness. Hardworking people who've been permalance for 5+ years are passed over for employees who've been there for 6 months or less when a full-time position opens up because the newbies suck up to the right execs. They use permalance as a way to save money, but this leads to high turnover (lack of benefits, paid time off, and any sort of job security causing most people to leave), and good talent runs away at the first chance they get. People are constantly flowing in and out of the company and more time and money is wasted training than if A+E just decided to pay their employees directly and give benefits than be cheap and go through a third party. -Morale is lowest I've ever seen. I was with A+E for over 5 years and people started off loving it here. It is not the same company it once was, and hasn't been since the former CEO retired. Employees are constantly dismayed by the state of the office and more disappointed each and every day. People who often discussed loving their jobs now wander around looking miserable and dejected.

Pros

There could be solid opportunities, both creatively and managerially, and the hours are mostly flexible.

Cons

Working in an environment where a portion of upper management is incompetent and upward mobility is stifled.
