Pros

Iconic brands that mean (or meant) something to Americans. Award winning content that delivered ratings. Nice offices and solid perks. Pension plan is great but new employees don't get to be on the plan. Great outside reputation in the industry - people very impressed I work here.

Cons

Back when I started, we had a shared mission and everyone gave 110% to make sure we produced content that was authentic to our brands and had a purpose. The company had a north star and everyone was on the same page. Now it's just a collection of egotistical politicians who are more focused on themselves then the company. People I admired most are all gone and people i thought had no future are now leaders. As other reviewers said, the place is like high school where the dumb jocks, mean girls, and popular kids are in charge. The new hires over last 3-5 years have mostly been 2nd rate friends of executives. Now HR has their hands in everything and things are getting worse by the minute. Everyone is just holding their breath till we get acquired and get a payout.

Pros

Nice people. Great benefits. Still having fully remote opportunities.

Cons

If you don't have a boss who wants you to grow, YOU WILL NOT GROW. Senior Management touts respect, radical candor, and honesty but need to take that into practice within senior managers. More junior people do not have opportunities to grow. There are TOXIC managers and senior leadership who truly need to be dismissed but they continue to be employed.

Pros

on occasion they had good breakfast

Cons

Unless you work for the right person, this place is soul crushing and will eat you alive. HR is a joke and they actively encouraged hourly employees not to report overtime hours worked.
