Pros

The job is remote and decent base pay. It is a good feeling helping people (when you’re actually able to)

Cons

Where do I begin? First of all, if you’re considering a job here, RUN. I’ve read through all of the reviews and it’s clear that 95% of the 5 Star Reviews on here are fake. *Quality of leads are pure trash. 98% either can’t afford it or are so blindsided by talking to you because they thought they were requesting info for the future. No urgency and no control. They claim this is a sales position, but you’re a glorified telemarketer. You will amass HUNDREDS of leads in your pipeline and less than 1% of them have any potential of becoming a move. Not exaggerating. *GREED. A Place for Mom is making thousand’s of dollars on each move. You’ll see there’s some moves they’re making $6,000-$8,000 just off one move. How much do you make? Well you earn 5 points per move which is less than $100. The quota makes no sense whatsoever and with the quality of leads that come in, it’s somewhat unattainable. Not always, but your RM will be up your you know what and spew garbage ways to try to find more moves like they think they’re actually helping. Maybe others do, but mine definitely does not. The majority of them come from a completely different industry and have never done the job we’ve done so they have no idea what they’re talking about. They have unrealistic expectations and bring zero value to us. Oh and don’t worry, if a community decides to lie about a move or not want to pay us, they’ll just take the communities word for it and back out your points which makes it even harder to hit that ridiculous quota. Speaking of unrealistic expectations, they designate warm transfer and follow up time. In the little amount of follow up time, between their unnecessary meetings and 1 on 1’s that are a complete waste of time, they expect you to make at least 50 dials. Now you’re probably thinking, 50 dials isn’t that many. You’re right, it isn’t if you had a big chunk of your shift to do that, but they give you a small amount of follow up and they’ll sprinkle in meetings, trainings, and 1 on 1’s to eat up that time. Oh and make sure you fill out that pipeline and keep it up to date. I’ve never in my life had a sales job that I had to do so much extra non sense and babysitting to make an extra $90 for a move. The commission structure is awful. Another unrealistic expectation, working every single weekend. The leads you receive on the weekend are complete trash and that shift is the biggest waste of time. They have you sitting in warm transfer most of the day just taking inbound calls. I could understand 1 weekend day a month, but every single weekend is overkill. Especially with people who have kids and that’s their time to enjoy it with their family while they’re out of school. On top of that, if it’s the last day of the month, they don’t care if it’s a holiday, you’re working. They made everyone who usually works Sunday’s work on Easter. Just completely unnecessary. I understand the last day of the month is important for sales. I’ve been in sales all my life. But they take these metrics beyond any real relevance and then condemn the whole company in an email for falling short of their unrealistic goals. Being on the east coast and getting rah rah emails on the last day of the month until MIDNIGHT that we can find more moves. It’s funny too because the RM’s think they’re so good at their job if we hit quota or get more moves. No, you literally bring no value at all to the team. You do not help us with moves. You’re not reaching out to the families. You’re not reaching out to the communities. An Engagement Manager is doing that. What is your real purpose? You’re a glorified micromanagement babysitter who shoots off stereotypical rah rah emails that literally doesn’t motivate anyone. Oh I forgot to add, all of leadership doesn’t work weekends. They’re Monday-Friday! Unless it’s the last day of the month or course. They just make us work them and waste our time. I could keep going, but I’ll stop here. I think you get the picture. Maybe I’ll add more later.
