      They used to be good...

      Pros

      They are a stable company and they have a good retirement plan. They are a domestic leader, but will have to work hard to maintain that position.

      Cons

      They do some promoting within but you stand a better chance of getting promoted if you are a friend of management ('good ol boy'). I agree with another reviewer - they used to care for their people, knew they were what was important to a business. But they have become less people oriented now. They claim they care for their people but it seems more talk than anything now.

      Stable, purposeful about change, respect of its history and founding, appreciative of contributions

      Cons

      Lack of agility, slow-moving, low-tech in the office, no transparency between organizational levels, hard to make an impact, decisions/changes weighed on "what would the founders do?"

      Pros

      It's a very "family" type work atmosphere. A-dec cares about their community and does a few extra's for their employees to show they care. Great retirement plan.

      Cons

      Very political and some of the lower/middle management is a joke. The company seems to be taking a turn from putting employees first to caring about the bottom line which will really ruin the good thing they have going.
