The WORST Executive Team I've Ever Known!

Pros

A lot of good people in non-leadership positions.

Cons

Avoid this company AT ALL COSTS!! The CEO is an old engineer who doesn't have a clue how to run a business, and refuses to trust the experts under him to do their jobs. Instead, he hires a bunch of yes-men as his executive staff who will simply do whatever he wants. He got rid of a truly talented marketing leadership team that was modernizing marketing at A10, building a world-class brand, and really helping the company begin to grow - and replaced them with another yes-man who will simply do whatever the CEO wants, without question. They've now gone back to the "old way" of doing things, which means technical product people updating data sheets and white papers and posting them to the website - and calling that "marketing". Engineering can't deliver a product on time - or with stable code - if their lives depended on it. You'll almost NEVER see a roadmap, and when you do it's a complete work of fiction. And you'll never see performance numbers, because engineering refuses to test the products. It's a cluster! The CEO blames sales for the lack of results, saying that "they don't know how to sell", when in fact the vast majority of sales are lost at POC. That's not sales, it's a faulty product!

Thanks for your feedback. I value all comments and reviews. I am disappointed to hear that you formed a negative opinion about the executive team and the recent marketing transformation at A10. The past three months have seen significant changes in marketing as we are implementing what we believe is the next phase of our company’s revenue growth development. Contrary to the previous marketing leadership team, which focused predominantly on branding and communications, my focus and investments are in the creation of content, qualified lead generation, social media, new customer advocacy programs, advanced website development, sales enablement training and improved analyst relations. Hence, Product Marketing (Data sheets, white papers, etc.) represents only one cornerstone of this audacious marketing strategy in 2018. I am inspired by the new marketing leadership team and the collaborative spirit across the entire worldwide marketing organization. In fact, there is even a much closer cooperation between product management, marketing and sales than ever before. The sales leadership team is ecstatic since marketing is developing more relevant content, sales enablement and qualified leads. All in all, I am pleased with our progress over the past months. I will admit, and it is true for all engineering organizations, that software products are sometimes delayed and this creates challenges for the entire company, specifically for marketing, sales and our customers. Having said that, A10’s engineering team continues to be the “engine” of the company building some of the most innovative and deep learning based cyber threat protection and application delivery solutions in the industry. It is a privilege to work with some of the most talented hardware and software engineers in the Silicon Valley and development centers worldwide. Our Product Management team does share A10’s product roadmap several times throughout the year. We are confident that the tighter collaboration between product management, marketing and sales will address some of the product roadmap related frustration you referred to in your feedback. Finally, and as for our CEO, I genuinely can attest that he is a Silicon Valley serial entrepreneur and visionary who has been rebuilding his executive team over the past months as well. His technical inventiveness and strategic leadership has attracted an experienced team of industry veterans to join him in leading A10’s next phase of security and cloud portfolio growth. I am optimistic about the future of A10 and confident that the recent executive management and marketing changes will help A10 to thrive in 2018. Thanks again for your feedback and best of luck in your future endeavors. Sincerely, Gunter Reiss Vice President Worldwide Marketing and Business Development

Pros

One good product: CGN Lot of good people working there

Cons

No vision, no move to the software and cloud. Products lacking key features. Rather than improving the product, management thinks they can define the way the market works.

Pros

free food for engineers (Chinese / indian food most nights) nice people

Cons

- bottom range for pay - no training, no career path - executive team has no future vision or product strategy - all execs are yes-men to ceo, who can't speak English - products aren't great. some of the products are decent, but none are stellar - employees are treated as necessarily evil, not as the reason for the company functioning at all - A10 cannot attract any top talent; too cheap.
