Pros

Unless you like being treated like you are in grade school there’s no Pros to working at this company under the current executive team.

Cons

Current Executive team does not appreciate the employees. To say the culture there is bad is an understatement. There is no culture. The open concept adopted for the office is to make sure they can watch what you’re doing on a daily basis. Some employees are made to submit “daily report cards” showing what work they’ve completed for the day. There is no trust that you are qualified to do your job, therefore no salary increases, neither COLA or performance based. Most departments are run too thin and if someone leaves executives determine no replacement is needed making employees take on more work still with no salary adjustment. Older employees are nervous and are pretty much ignored as executives favor new hires who are much younger and are treated better. Employees are afraid to call hotline to complain in fear of retaliation. The company’s owners need to get more involved and question employees about how they feel the company is being run...not the executives.

Pros

If you are desperate and can’t get hired anywhere else in the country, I guess a paycheck from AAMCO could be a PRO. Be warned though, new hires only stay for a few months for good reason. Turn over is staggering. Don’t waste your time unless you are REALLY desperate for a job and you REALLY enjoyed 3rd grade.

Cons

This will be the worst mistake of your career. This is a fly-by-night company (lemonade stands are run better) where micromanaging by the executives is EXTREME and is reason the company is so very inefficient and sinking. Execs are real impressed with themselves! they think they are geniuses and everybody else is worthless and incapable. Execs listen in on phone conversations, sit out in the middle of the open floor to keep an eye on you, stroll around to make sure you are sitting at your work station, look at your computer monitors to make sure you have work displayed....You know the stuff good executives are made of. The very essence of the company is, It is all about the execs and their pockets. Every thought, Every calculated evil move, Every dollar. All about them! Execs don’t believe in cost of living adjustments. They think COLAS should be merit based. Now there’s a few geniuses! You won’t find a culture worse than this one. Culture starts at the top and the top doesn’t care. You will be bullied, verbally abused and harassed. There is a hotline to report this stuff but of course nobody trusts its confidentiality. This company is struggling financially. Haven’t met sales goals in years! MAYBE EVEN A DECADE. AAMCO franchisees are jumping ship anyway they can. Employees are running for the door. No raises in years, but the micromanaging execs who have CAUSED the poor results and CAUSED the business to sink will get their bonuses and costly perks. They will make sure the “accounting” will work on their favor. 😉

Pros

I’m pretty sure the only good thing about this company is they give out a monthly cake for everyone’s birthday. So only apply if cake is more important to you than a career.

Cons

What isn’t a con at this company? Management picks and chooses favorites and those favorites can do whatever they want whenever they want, but if you do the same thing, look out. I personally worked in corporate and have been told people who have been with AAMCO for 7 years have not gotten raises. If you’ve been there for 25 years they don’t care if you leave, because you mean nothing to them. They DO NOT care about their employees. There is no such thing as an HR team at AAMCO. It is one single person who isn’t even there majority of the time. If you have an issue , Human Resources will do nothing about it, so you might as well not even say a word. Whoever is reading this review i highly suggest you look elsewhere before you get stuck in the trap of at least 15 other employees who have complained they aren’t happy.
