      Pros

      AAR is a great place to work for many reasons. Global exposure, multiple areas of business to learn about and experienced leaders to help show you the way. In addition, you get the opportunity to build your skills through formal Learning and Development via classroom, online and virtual, Quarterly Lunch and Learns with Senior Leaders, Mentorship program, and Quarterly Check Ins for Performance Management.

      Cons

      I would like to see even more opportunities to learn about the different parts of the AAR business.

      Good enough for the experience, not good enough to stay.

      Pros

      The pay can be decent. The experience obtained from doing heavy maintenance on the aircraft is invaluable.

      Cons

      The management could care less about its employees. The turnover rate is so high that they are forced to bring in people who have never picked up a tool let alone worked on a plane. HR likes to hire back people they have fired before and refuse to hire back people who quit and tried to come back as a contractor. Some of the inspectors make it harder on the mechanics by rejecting them for little things and not actually working with them to get the plane out on time and safely. MOST of the supervisors frankly just sit around smoking on their vapes and on their phones and then turn around and complain that those under them are not doing things fast enough. Frankly it is all just a good ole boy system.

      Pros

      When I was given a task, I was given the freedom to get it done.

      Cons

      My program was closely tied to commercial aviation, COVID hit the airlines and our programs along with it.
