Pros

Advocates effectively for older adults. Diverse workforce that celebrates inclusivity while giving space for all political backgrounds including very conservative and very liberal.

Cons

It is hard to be promoted to a people manager position if you were brought in as a non people manager. AARP requires internal people manager experience to be promoted.
