Pros

The salary, caregiving and other leave are solid. The company has a fantastic mission. Excellent training opportunities.

Cons

Middle managers carry a great deal of weight of the work with less authority to make decisions. Not in all instances, but in many key areas, upper management is out of touch with the needs and stresses of managers.

Pros

For such a large organization, they are buttoned up from top to bottom; extremely transparent and top management is accessible; the work overall is diverse and interesting and you feel like you are making a difference; great colleagues and volunteers.

Cons

The HR process upon giving my notice was essentially non-existent, no exit interview, sent me a paycheck after I left that I had to return to the company ... it was almost like I was the 1st person to ever leave AARP.
