Horrible IT Management

Pros

Flexible hours, DC location is very convenient to Metro

Cons

Horrible IT management culture. I would classify the current leadership as amateurs. Lack of vision or insight as to how to run an organization. The entire IT department is run based upon reputation and not ability.

Pros

decent cafeteria; nice building; some nice colleagues; reasonable work hours; headquarters located in an interesting part of Washington; standard benefits

Cons

Hubris--at least on the part of my managers. Unreasonable job expectations. Lousy gym. Unfair review, both in terms of substance and process. Moody department head.

Pros

Great benefits, location, co-workers, and mission - working with people driven to help others is always uplifting - but they're not all bleeding hearts, and quite fun!

Cons

Group decision-making stalls/delays objectives - or random high-level decisions don't make sense but must be implemented anyway. Lots of internal operations that don't always make sense. Also - issues w/ accountability in some staff/departments.
