Pros

* Friendly team * Busy environment * Time goes by very fast * You meet new people every day. * Flexible working hours and days - you can book your availability. * Good job for a student. * Customer service is essential experience in any social future work. * You can establish a lot of connections that will last you for years. * Job requires no experience.

Cons

Buckle up! * You work for agency as customer service host - not directly employed by the Airport * No benefits or bonuses * Minimum wage * Agency puts Airport first, you come second. This is common sense, but if airport tells to cut positions – no hard feelings, you might lose your job or hours. * Zero - hour contract * My pay over the course of employment went down and not up, budget and hour cuts. * Early starts 3-4 AM or late finish, flight schedules run pretty much 24/7. * Job can be stressful at times. * You have two separate bodies of management in the Airport. 1. The Airport management. 2. Your agency management. * Becuse of that you can have various experiences with managers good or bad. (overall positive) * Management teams and employees are distant from each other and it takes a lot of time to establish miningful connection, especially if you work part-time. * Sometimes managers trying to be competent in the areas they have little knowledge on, and you have to comply even when you understand complete absurd of the requests. * Managers change a lot. I don't blame them, a lot of pressure. * Agencies that handle the customer service at the airport change a lot. Blackjack, Omniserv, Wilson James, ABM - you name it. However, the policies tend to remain overall the same. Just different company name. * Job is easy and after learning all aspects of it, it can get boring, especially during busy times. You can find yourself being stuck in one place for many hours - doing the same thing over and over. * Little career opportunities, no direct progression root. * Low budget and uncomfortable uniform. Imagine being on foot all day and managers give you mandatory werhouse boots to wear. Now walk 7-10 miles around the airport. * Absurd and confusing company policies that mixed across hundreds of emails. * Fun fact, nothing will change for years to come. Except maybe the airport won't need customer service hosts in the near future.
