Pros

Working with the children is the best part of the job. It warms my heart to see a kiddos moving to bigger and better things. Not only that, but working with other Registered Behavior Technicians makes the time go by faster.

Cons

The pay is horrible. The hours are not guarantee, so expect your check to be horrible if you don’t pick up sub sessions. You have to make up sessions that parents cancel. Some supervisors are extremely helpful and some are not so much.

Pros

High pay rate Potential to get hours toward BCBA

Cons

I came from a different ABA company and was horrified by ACES. All training was videos and one or two days shadowing, but the BI I shadowed didn’t know what they were really doing. I also had a 10 year old client have multiple loud and aggressive behaviors and supervisors chose to casually watch rather than help me.

Pros

-Great for those who want to get into the field. -You learn a lot.

Cons

-Favoritism/politics in regards to the higher positions. -Low pay. -Over-the top holiday parties. *If you want to get into ABA, work for smaller companies that are focused on the clients; I would not recommend bigger companies like ACES*
