Pros

flexible schedule working with clients is great most supervisors are amazing cool staff

Cons

every BI gets different pay new hires get paid more than me can get taken off a case and lose money don't get paid if clients cancel HR and scheduling are separate, so never on same page and HR chooses raises so raises are not performance based can be very emotionally draining bad benefits (doesn't cover anything) lots of upkeep (submitting car insurance, renewing RBT, renewing CPR)

Pros

The supervisors and coworkers are amazing. The parents and the children are for the most part what makes the job fun.

Cons

The pay is horrible. Many of the people working in the field are bachelor's level and psychology majors. The minimum rate for RBT certified workers is $20/hr, despite the job posting claiming $25 for RBT holders. The bonuses (2, $500 bonuses) are only paid out after 6/12 months of services if you weren't trained and held an RBT before joining ACES. Even after completing certification, the company will keep you at a lower rate of pay. Many coworkers will tell you the only way to increase you pay is to switch companies. The benefits are only paid out if you are able to maintain 30+ hour weeks - which is impossible with many client cancellations (unless you have amazing availability). Many RBT's have two jobs for this reason.

Pros

High pay rate Potential to get hours toward BCBA

Cons

I came from a different ABA company and was horrified by ACES. All training was videos and one or two days shadowing, but the BI I shadowed didn’t know what they were really doing. I also had a 10 year old client have multiple loud and aggressive behaviors and supervisors chose to casually watch rather than help me.
