Pros

- Will hire almost anyone, even to supervisory roles - Pays for training and gives further certs while you work (CPI, ETC) - Constant need for subs means there's as many hours as you want

Cons

- Will absolutely abuse your scheduling. Expect two three hour shifts 7 hours apart on your weekends. I'm working 6 days a week but only 29 hours, although hours constantly fluctuate. - Horrific work culture. I've had a supervisor roll their eyes and snort at me for taking a day off work after being attacked by a homeless man outside their office. Supervisors are patronizing, rude, and will treat you horribly if they can get away with it. Other RBTS may or may not treat you terribly, but if you're looking to reach a supervisory role be prepared to play politics and stab a few people in the back. - Clients constantly cancel and you're not compensated at all if they do, so it might be best to keep a second job if you work here. Most RBT's do. - Pays only 40 cents per mile when paying for mileage. - Communication is incredibly slow even on time sensitive or important matters.

Pros

Great job for those in college, hours and locations are flexible. You get valuable experience and clients are super fun, but you are not paid what you’re worth. No benefits or earned PTO. You use your personal vehicle and get reimbursed for milage and time only in between clients. It’s up to luck what supervisors and clients you get assigned. Some clients are mellow and super easy to work with while others are difficult and aggressive. The work you do is also very independent so it can get lonely at times.

Cons

he number one flaw is how poorly the Behavioral Interventionists (RBTs) are paid, while the Supervisors (BCBAs) regularly bonus. Also, the company does not guarantee anyone hours. This is especially frustrating because we are frequently hiring new people. From experience, I can attest to that fact that other companies are worse and some better. I’d say we are somewhere in between.

Pros

Rewarding work helping kids with autism and other disorders. They hire entry level without experience as long as you want to learn. Sub sessions are usually available if you want more hours.

Cons

No raises unless you ask for them, even then you'll have to make your case despite finishing college, being here for years and getting new responsibilities. Yet they hire in at more than they'll pay existing staff. Maybe we should quit and reapply. No certifications until one of your current assigned clients requires them, so you can't sub for clients who need specific certs. Not as much training as I would have wanted early on.
