Pros

I work at ACES CV. The director is very helpful and makes the work environment enjoyable. The culture in CV is amazing, I love to come in to work to serve our families. I am very happy to also make a difference in our employees life by providing them with professional development and support in the field.

Cons

Bigger office. We have big rooms but we have multiple things going on in the same room (e.g. 1:1 sessions, peer group, NH training); it can get loud and hard to focus on the task at hand.

Pros

Easy going office staff. The work is very admirable and it seems incredibly rewarding in that regard. There is great potential.

Cons

Was interviewed and told on the spot that I had the position. The Director/manager didn’t know the pay rate, I also informed him I was expecting. He stated he would chat with HR on those issues and the date of training. After dodging my calls for 2 weeks, I was finally informed that they were not offering me the position, which he stated he did not have the power to hire me and was mistaken, as HR makes the final decision. The job posting states a need to be available 3 days a week. I was informed that most of the staff hold second jobs and go to school, since they can’t really offer more than 10 to 15 hours to start. I have a job working 4 days a week, but told him I could make it work on the other 3 days. Once he finally answered my call 2 weeks later, he stated “my availability was an issue”. I told him I needed more hours to quit my other job, he stated I needed to available 3 days plus Saturday. I said I would reach out to my current employer. They never gave me the chance, they rescinded my offer the next day. Poor communication and mismanagement, coupled with low pay and hours, is likely why this job keeps popping up on job boards every few months.

Pros

The work itself is very enjoyable! I love that I can use my skills to help the autism population. The training was super helpful and I think that I will be able to use what I learned in all my future endeavors. I particularly liked the hands on parts of the training. The supervisors seem very approachable and are very knowledgeable.

Cons

I hear that they are making good progress to be more competitive in their pay. It's more expensive in the Bay so I am glad that they understand that and I hope they will continue to make sure that staff can afford to live here.
