Pros

You can have a decent salary if you sell yourself properly Some of the people are good to work with Free water

Cons

Company will try to sell you bright future, but approaches and mindset are from the stone age "Agile" word is used for pure waterfall process Expect to see micromanagement everywhere. Moreover it can be sold as a possible improvement for your work Very hard to find people to learn from. Management and technical leadership are mostly ladder climbers

Pros

I loved working at ADESA Houston. I had a blast every day and loved going into work every morning. On a local level you can bet very well taken care of and if you dedicate yourself, you can go far. The local employees work well together and learn from each other. Customers are usually great to be around and the fast pace of a weekly sale can keep you moving. Benefits are good for you and your family and the 401k match is a great addition as well.

Cons

Corporate has no idea what happens at the local level but is happy to step in when they feel they know better. Weekly sales no matter what! you will have to make it happen no excuses. Some customers will test you and it will be part of their personality, need to have people skills. Not always fair as to how things work, I was an IT and Sales Manager at the same time and while I didn't mind, I feel that most wouldn't be willing to do so as freely. Sometimes you get too many hands in on something at one time and it may be better to let things go to the wayside. Depending on what location (several throughout America) your pay may be a bit short, you may also be absorbing positions you don't sign up for, with no formal structure as to what position does what you may have 2 or 3 jobs.
