Pros

Plenty of opportunities at AECOM for engineering, architecture and construction management. If you want the stability and benefits that come with working for a large company, AECOM is it. Plenty of training opportunities, excellent benefits package and the chance to travel if that's what you want, or stay local if that's what you are looking for.

Cons

At such a large company, you do have to make your own way sometimes. You can feel like just a number, although AECOM does a good job of working to prevent that.

Pros

Working with some of the best and brightest in the industry. Being able to work on some of the highest profile signature projects. Depending on if you work on a client project site or home office the culture will be a bit different but still a great company.

Cons

Still reeling from what the true company culture is from periods of acquisitions and mergers. Upper management are not truly comfortable in making decisions because there is a perception that their positions is not permanent due to the acquisitions. This makes middle and lower management not have a clear path on the direction of AECOM.

Pros

The work at times can be challenging but very rewarding. The best part about my job is the people I work with on a daily basis (the field people) are the best in the industry (2nd to none). Their knowledge, diversity and experiences add a lot of value to the projects. The merger seems to be headed in the right direction. There seems to be more and more opportunities for work. Pay and benefits are a bit higher than industry average.

Cons

With the merger (URS & AECOM) there is way too much upper management (vp's & directors) I believe this is hurting our competitiveness.
