Salary too low for big city life

- Management: I have worked in a couple of large AEs and interfaced with others. AECOM must have the worse management out there of large AEs and there are many layers of them. These are managers with little people skills and just there for a job/career. This is especially true on the West Coast and for the Buildings and Places business line. Management uses heavy hand, bullying and demeaning tactics for PMs and discipline leads to conform. Because of these practices the organization has no ability to keep or higher project managers. The sad part is seeing low quality managers move around these large AE firms to spread their incompetency and hide behind the numbers. Some of these move to WSP and other large firms. My recommendation is to stay with AEs of 5000 headcount or less. Hard for them to hide. - Shady Business Practices: both employees and clients sue AECOM. Recently AECOM did not properly pay employees overtime pay and got caught. The Federal government routinely sues AECOM for its time charging practices. Search on google for examples - Bullying and Discrimination: AECOM engages in bullying of employees and laying off older more expensive employees/ discipline leads to then transfer responsibilities to younger lower cost employees and make them work twice as hard for same pay. - Poor benefits: Managers gets bonuses but technical people usually not. Health insurance and other benefits are of poor quality and low level.
