Pros

As an engineer or technical professional there are opportunities to work on large signature projects and on various disciplines and various offices. The large projects provide exposure to a variety of disciplines and consultants and educational opportunities.

Cons

It takes politicical effort to move above middle mangement. Upper Management is a male fraternity club. Women cannot progress to upper management unless one of the men sponser you.

Pizza partys and ice creams socials ( I guess I am in high school again)..

Cons

Where to start.. Let's see, they love to layoff personnel, preferably the hard workers. They will take a totally productive office and rip it apart. There is no loyalty, you so much as blink you will get laid off. They can't afford to hire a drafter yet will hire six figure safety managers. There are more vice presidents with less workers bees. By the way, the VPs can travel all they want, throwing away money left and right while not even billing an hour. How this allowed I have no clue.

Interesting projects, nice office where everything I need to do my job is provided, better than average benefits, company has a lot of talented people in every facet of civil engineering. For such a huge company, the red tape really isn't that bad. Flexible hours.

Cons

Salaries are below market. If you are considering a job with AECOM, negotiate a good starting salary because raises are pretty skimpy. Could use more IT help. Clumsy Oracle time entry system.
