Pros

Work with great people at the local and regional level, office can be fun when not being dictated to,

Cons

Constantly hiring more highly-compensated executives & leaders, no real idea what they do or how they contribute financially. Very frustrating to those who haven't had a good raise or a bonus in years! They also seem to be way too reactive - start laying people off every time it gets the least bit slow, despite the fact that work may be on the horizon. They roll out systems before they are ready, causing a lot of frustration & wasted time. Forcing the corporate model on everyone leaves employees feeling devalued, unappreciated, and faceless. Provide work environments that foster efficiency and productivity. The firmwide move to the "open office" floorplan is terrible. This style decreases productivity, employee satisfaction, and ultimately retention.

Pros

* Generally adequate pay. * Support for individual movement throughout other parts of the company

Cons

Our small division fell outside the AECOM norm (architectural, building, rail, engineering) milieu. Without marketing support we are withering on the vine and will eventually fall away. Direct management is strongly focused on monetary performance and not on engineering quality or adequacy. Silly cost reduction efforts such as the need to use a software work recording device before you make a 2 cent copy. Confusing QA (ISO 9000) implementation with conflicting or unintelligible forms. AECOM began life as a collection of Architect / Engineering companies. Even after years, this blend remains incomplete.
