Pros

the training they provide at work place is above the average. The health and retirements benefits are also better than others.

Cons

It's a much bigger company where one doesn't know others. The process of assimilation after company buyouts has taken much more time than was originally thought.

Pros

- AECOM has a well know name and a good reputation as a global provider for engineering services. - There is currently good time-flexibility. Deadlines and emergencies happen where an employee may have to work late, but management has been very supportive about flexible PTO time to help compensate. This flexibility allows the employee to focus on getting the job done without sacrificing personal time.

Cons

This company provides no real opportunity for professional and intellectual growth. Technically, the project work is not innovative or challenging. As far as innovation goes, AECOM is 10-years behind. While the there are employment growth programs in place, it is for show. The drive to keep up billability and keep overhead costs low combined with the red tape to sign up for training prevents employees from taking advantage of the programs in place. Additionally, because AECOM is a company built by overtaking other companies, it seems that many employees feel desperate to hold on to their jobs by "marking their territory" in fear of being replaced or laid off. This has a dramatic effect on the lower-mid and mid-level employees not only working to "climb-up the ladder" but who just want to gain more experience and grow professionally.
