This company provides no real opportunity for professional and intellectual growth. Technically, the project work is not innovative or challenging. As far as innovation goes, AECOM is 10-years behind. While the there are employment growth programs in place, it is for show. The drive to keep up billability and keep overhead costs low combined with the red tape to sign up for training prevents employees from taking advantage of the programs in place. Additionally, because AECOM is a company built by overtaking other companies, it seems that many employees feel desperate to hold on to their jobs by "marking their territory" in fear of being replaced or laid off. This has a dramatic effect on the lower-mid and mid-level employees not only working to "climb-up the ladder" but who just want to gain more experience and grow professionally.
