      Aecom was a contractor in the middle East; I loved the people, the pay and the contract I was on.

      Pros

      The overseas contract I was on provided a hard structure to live in, unlike my contract in Afghanistan with XXX. There was a grab-n-go and bedding was provided. If you did your job well, all was good; all was good with me.

      Cons

      Due to circumstances of a drawback, I was RIF'ed at 8 months, but still received a prorated bonus, so even the con was a plus.

      Pros

      Coworkers - working alongside some of the best in the business around the world. Benefits - AECOM offers great benefits including insurance, educational reimbursement and online training. Exciting projects in all different fields.

      Cons

      Large public company that is controlled by the stock price. AECOM used to be several companies under one parent company. Now they are all one and global. Because of this, they are still suffering from growing pains. Retention of good people has been difficult. There have been some layoffs but the hardest part has been convincing the good people to stay.
