      A satisfying experience as an overseas contractor

      Pros

      Pay and benefits are excellent as compared to stateside positions. A very good chance for promotions or transfers to other departments.

      Cons

      Overseas working conditions are harsh if one is not used to that environment. Promotions are not always made on merit; sometimes based on "popularity" of the employee. Pay & benefits are on the low-end as compared to other overseas contracting companies.

      Pros

      Large company=large projects which tend to be more complex and interesting to work on The size of the company provides significant experienced engineering staff to draw on for support, someone somewhere has dealt with vitrually every issue you might encounter.

      Cons

      A lack of adequate corporate emphasis of focus on clients. Lack of emphasis on its employees. Too much emphasis on financial performance.
