Pros

Depending on the office, the PMs could be great. Get big projects- if you have a decent manager you can get some interesting work.

Cons

Very sexist overall- there were many conversations about "women in the workplace" and then when I would talk to HR about blatant sexism they would act as though it was a non-issue. Your experience depends entirely on the team you are in. Very high pressure to have billable hours, which typically wasn't too problematic, but even using overhead for training was kind of frowned upon. Their review system is a mess. They curve the reviews so your review score can be decreased. The 3 categories for the review are something like needs improvement, doing well, and outstanding. So if you get average it's titled "doing well" and you can't advocate that you deserved more, thus you don't get much of a raise. I had my PE and my boss didn't, and he kept me from advancing- likely because then I'd be more credentialed than he was.

Pros

There were very little pros to working at AECOM except for the people. Most of the "worker bees" were good, intelligent people. Before AECOM purchased URS, it was marginally better but as soon as the acquisition took place, it all went rapidly downhill. The only real pro, if you like to travel, was the opportunity to travel abroad for work.

Cons

Too much work overload and burn out, too little guidance from management. Horrible salaries for the hours being put in and subpar benefits. Every chance they got, the reduced any meager benefits we still had. There was little to no work/life balance. You were expected to work into the wee hours of the night as the rule, not the exception. Weekends were also frequently required. There was little emphasis put on quality of work. It was all about the quantity. The idea of internal customer support was non-existent.
