Pros

AGC fosters exceptional growth. I have gained so much more than I ever expected from my first job after graduating from college. Having the opportunity to work closely every day with a CEO is something for which I will always be grateful, and it is inspirational how hands on Ben Howe works with employees at all stages in the company. He cares about helping people achieve success on both professional and personal levels. AGC is the perfect environment for people who like to push themselves and aim high, and the partners work endlessly to help every employee reach their full potential. The culture that AGC has created adds a new dimension to how we are all able to function together as a team, really getting to know each other so that we work most effectively as a company, across all departments. I feel very lucky to have found a rigorous workplace that continues to push me to do my best, as well as have fun and create lifelong bonds with others at the company.

Cons

It would be nice to have some flexibility on location, especially considering I commute.

Pros

The culture within the office is great. Everyone gets along and treats one another with respect and even though everyone is extremely busy most of the time, time is always made to let loose and relax (whether it’s through Thursday night outings or going to a sports game together). You definitely learn a lot. Given how busy and demanding it is, you find the best ways to stay as organized as possible and prioritize assignments, which are skills that extend outside of the office. CEO values the employees opinions and takes everything they say into consideration. The admin team at AGC is amazing. Teamwork is key and everyone steps up to help whenever needed. Free lunch on Wednesday’s and bagel Friday’s are definitely a big plus.

Cons

Investment Banking is an extremely busy business to get into, regardless of the position, so adjusting to that can take time for some people.

Pros

- Prior to AGC I spent two years at an analyst at a Mid-Market Investment Bank and another year at a PE outfit. What drew me in at a high-level was the c-suite access, direct communication with partners, a strong analyst core, impressive client base and an overall great group of people - Tight deal teams with high levels of transparency and the opportunity to get a ton of experience - Highest level of junior personnel responsibility I’ve seen in the industry - Work on behalf of impressive entrepreneurs, businesses and backers - Tons of room to grow and move up throughout the firm. If you’re ready to take on more, it’s given to you - Extremely strong comradery across the junior team; strong culture with weekly outings for analysts, trips (ski and beach), volunteering, sporting events and even the bullpen just stepping away for an hour to take a spin class or do a workout downtown

Cons

- High turnover of junior team, which is not uncommon in the industry and the firm is always actively working to address. Unfortunately, we seem to be a step or two behind and just need to get caught up
