Leading edge Modern Applications and Cloud DevOps

Pros

I have had the opportunity to work on a wide range of assignments in my two years at AHEAD. I got out of my Cloud Native Java development comfort zone and spent time doing API architecture, and helping clients modernize applications and modernize DevOps. I even got to implement Python micro-services at one client. At each step of the way, there was a deep bench behind me, allowing me to step into unfamiliar situations with confidence. I am constantly impressed with the professionalism of others around me.

Cons

Personal growth is a double edge sword. I have to constantly learn and adapt to prepare for each engagement. Work is rewarding, but this job is depanding.

Small company feel with large company support

Pros

I have been with the company a couple of years and really enjoy working there. It has the feel of working for a small company while still having the infrastructure of a larger company. Helping other companies achieve their goals is a great feeling and Ahead helps them do that. The company encourages employees to grow their career by offering training and certifications that allow for personal growth.

Cons

The growth has been rapid and that can create a disconnected feeling at times. The management has actively tried to help with this, but it can be somewhat unsettling with the changes. However, change is the only thing we're guaranteed.

Managers are supportive of employees Great pay and benefits Company is invested in their managers and employees by providing training opportunities Can work remotely if you position allows that flexibilty Flexible PTO policy Monthly Career Conversations and quarterly Career Conversation Review with you manager

Cons

Working remotely during pandemic can sometimes cause employee feeling isolated. AHEAD has kicked off a company sponsored fun event in each office so that employees can reconnect. All offices are back open and there are more in person meetings.
