Pros

I have worked as a tutor at several places and was consistently impressed by AJ's training process. At other test prep providers I had been immediately assigned students after being hired, often learning the curriculum on the fly. AJ will pay you to complete their curriculum, including several practice test, before actually teach it, which made me feel much more confident that I was effectively preparing my students. The support I was given at AJ was also consistently impressive. Everyone on their managerial staff also teaches, so you will be able to easily seek help if you encounter any difficulties in teaching a specific problem, or helping a student struggling with a subject (this was a very welcome change from past positions I have held where management only handled administrative work). Everyone I met was friendly, helpful, and passionate.

Cons

The only thing I would point out to anyone applying to AJ is that it may take some time to develop a full workload. I do want to point out that my team lead was very upfront from the beginning that this would be the case, so it should not come as a surprise. No other complaints (and even this is more something I would be aware of than a true "con," every I met got their desired amount of hours within a few weeks), I only left AJ because my wife and I relocated from the Bay Area to Southern California and I was very disappointed to have to give my notice.
