Pros

- Flexibility: you get to make your own schedule - No micromanaging from leadership - Leadership is transparent - Company-sponsored social events at the end of semester for employees (pre-COVID): museums, wineries, etc. - Benefits for full-time employees: health & dental insurance, sick time, etc. - Pay is great - Coworkers are great - AJ offices are nice & have free snacks!

Cons

Not much; I'd have stayed at AJ if I wasn't going back to school! - Need to handle some of the administrative side (dealing with late cancellations, etc.) as a tutor, but the leadership is also there to help you through any tough situations. - The nature of the job pretty much requires you to work evenings and weekends.

Pros

While working at AJ, my coworkers were great, the kids were usually super engaged, and there was a ton of support from the staff. It was a great place to work on organizational and communication skills before I pursued graduate school. In addition, controlling my own schedule allowed me to have freedom to pursue other opportunities simultaneously. After the pandemic, everything was moved online, but support from my team leader, Merylynn Valencia, was outstanding. I can't say enough good thongs about AJ.

Cons

Sometimes parents can be hard to deal with, but this is just part of working in a client facing role. It takes about a month to gain clients, but this is something that is typical in the tutoring business.
