Pros

-Highest pay in the industry -Amazing team members who really know their stuff and are always willing to help/brainstorm -Strong and healthy company culture -I actually look forward to work in the morning, or, at the very least, don't begrudge going in -Excellent curriculum for test prep -Team leaders let tutors flourish and play to their strengths rather than micromanaging -The company is growing so their are definitely opportunities for upward mobility within the company -The company only hires/promotes from within -You are paid for your administrative duties

Cons

-You are working second shift (students aren't out until 3pm on weekdays, though you do miss traffic) -You really do need a passion for teaching as you must be "on" whenever you are with a student -Hours start out slow while you are bringing on clients

Pros

Great facilities, pay, coworkers, and students. The important things are all taken care of and are of top notch quality. There is a lot of training and this really enhances a collaborative culture.

Cons

Always on email, entering one session takes multiple sites (sites are generally terrible), potential for commute between offices, inconsistent work hours. You will work Sundays and nights.

Pros

AJ Tutoring has a fun, young community and provides a lot of trainings and support for becoming the best tutor you can be. The other tutors are passionate, smart, and engaging. If you're an academic and teacher at heart, this is the place for you! You have a lot of flexibility and creativity in terms of what and how you tutor. They almost exclusively hire seasoned tutors and so trust your skill set.

Cons

You need to call parents to schedule. While this does allow you to make your own schedule, you are also at the whim of the students' availability. AJ also has a strict 24hr call to schedule policy after being assigned a new student, and so scheduling stress can seep into other aspects of your life. As a result, AJ really encourages you to become full-time, even if that isn't your ultimate goal. If you do work full-time, that means you're working the second shift (3-9/10pm) M-Th, and all day Sat/Sun. You don't get paid for prep, calling, or bookkeeping time.
