Pros

Unbelievable support from team leaders, mentors, and department heads from the time you're hired until you leave. Great team atmosphere cultivated by leadership on down, encourages everyone to support each other and seek out colleagues. Highly intelligent and passionate tutors make going to work and interacting with team members exciting and rewarding. Opportunity to build great and lasting relationships with students, parents, and fellow AJ team members. Opportunities to expand content knowledge and teaching skills , as well as for career advancement.

Cons

The hours can be difficult sometimes (working after school into the evenings, on weekends), but you get to set your own schedule so you can manage it effectively. Some parents are tough to deal with but that's life. Can't think of a real negative to working at AJ.

Pros

Incredibly Engaging Management - supportive, eager to assist, open to suggestions Strength of Reputation - Established, well-regarded, well-run tutoring company Supportive - While I was full time in the tech world, AJ worked hand-in-hand with me to ensure I got the most of my part-time tutoring work Involved - Extensive training, coaching, opportunities for growth, catch ups and check ins all aimed at your growth both professionally and personally Competitive - VERY well compensated with ample opportunities for more hours, more growth, and additional responsibilities

Cons

Personally I worked full time at a well known tech giant in the area. While trying to manage those responsibilities and tutoring at the same time, AJ as a company was unbelievably supportive. From my team leads, to my managers, to the owners themselves, everyone involved was consistently understanding, accommodating, positive, and engaging. In my experience, I found absolutely no negatives to working here.

Pros

The ability to set my own schedule made it ideal as a second job. Free and unlimited snacks. Really nice and helpful administrative staff, mentors, and team leaders so I always felt supported. Compensated for non tutoring work as well. Students were generally cool to work with. Co workers seemed happy to be there. Good salary.

Cons

As others have said, talking to parents isn't the most fun thing. But hey, that's life in tutoring. Nothing really you can do about that in any client facing role. There was some rote work but we got compensation for it so can't complain.
