Pros

Bonus checks once a month, good benefits

Cons

No work life balance, unreasonable expectations, District managers lie to save themselves, no opportunity for growth; as store manager was our ceiling, Micro management from upper management, and if you make it to 6 figures you will be required to pickup slack from other store managers in the district that under perform or they will find a way to get rid of you (as we are forced to sign over our arbitration rights too, so they get rid of you due to "performance"). They speak bad about unions and force you into not starting one. They threaten employees, that if you start a union, they will simply close the store for good. If you are old or overweight, DMs wont hire you because they dont think you can do the job. When the presidents of the company came in town, they would ask our opinion about things, and before they even arrive at the store, the directors and district managers tell you EXACTLY what to say (to make them look good, and fake like we were well treated). The company constantly changes for the worse. Years ago, they closed on most holidays, paid employees an extra dollar per hour on Sundays and labor was based off of productivity ( now its opperational efficiency, whatever the heck that is) but now that has changed for the worse as well. The company is owned by the Albrect family in Germany. Every year, Aldi's US market PROFITS 2 billion dollars minimum, by not properly staffing and working employees to the brink of insanity. In the KC market, every store has monthly sales between 600k-and 1.5 million. You would think they could afford to hire more people, and they can, but they would rather pocket more profits. This was truly a terrible place to work, and I don't miss it one bit!
