Pros

Higher wage than other grocery stores 15.50 an hour.

Cons

Things might be different in Europe but US Aldi's in Texas are something else. Understaffed on purpose so the store can have less expenses, resulting in bonuses for the store manager. We would only have two or three people during a shift. You are expected to be a cashier, organize the store, restock, sweep & mop the whole store, and clean the bathrooms, at the same time while keeping an eye on the customers who are about to pay. It's been more than two years since I have worked at that specific store and during that time I have seen at least 15 new faces because everybody quits. The schedule is all over the place and changes every week without consistency. One coworker requested one day off months in advance and they told her no without a valid reason.

One of the better jobs I've had

Pros

Competitive pay compared to similar jobs, retirement savings even when I'm only part time, schedule flexibility, good team

Cons

Little flexibility with being late so worse for long commutes or those who rely on public transit, being timed for everything and a tendency to emphasize speed over quality, body feeling sore after most shifts and having to multi task alot including while working the register
