Pros

Solid structure of good pay and benefits. The Director I report to in my Division is great to work with and I love my team. We all work hard and strive to set the best example for other Divisions and employees. Lots volunteer activities to get involved with Great schedule flexibility

Cons

Divisional office assistants top out at a certain pay rate and then never receive another raise. Instead they get a lump sum bonus of hours worked x (x amount in cents). It would be nice if they gave bonuses based on performance reviews. We have performance reviews yearly but they don't go towards a raise or any kind of bonus so essentially there is a part of the review process that feels a little unappreciated. No matter how hard you work or how above and beyond you may go it all results in a "thank you". The Divisional office position titles are all "assistant" title however the work is far more superior than basic assistant work and upper management has always pointed that out. The pay should be higher for the work thats being done however they can get away with they pay structure as long as they keep the titles as "assistants" . Not alot of room for growth in the Divisional offices. There is no such thing as a promotion at Aldi if you work in the Divisional office. You have to either apply to be a district manager (99% of the time they hire fresh out of college for that role). You could also apply to work in corporate and attempt to venture down that path.

Cons

Ineffective Leaders, Bottom of the Barrel Workforce, Dirty Work Areas and Mass Exodus of Talented Employees Don't Waste Your Time Working or Shopping at Aldi. They do not care about their employees, the communities they operate in or their customers. I was present at the warehouse when a mid-aged, long-term cleaner there had a heart attack & died in the cooler area of the warehouse a few months ago. A go-fund-me page was set up for the family & the only contributors were hard working selectors. Greedy Aldi Warehouse Management did not give a dime. And selectors had to keep up the pace, while this man died. What does that say about this company & its management? You can save a few pennies here, but there is such a thing as a corporation that is too big & has a monopoly of the market. Americans should shop at American run companies & keep their dollars in the USA. Not in early 20th century atmosphere Germany. Shame on the long-time management here for how they treat people. Karma will intervene eventually.
