Not sure it’s company wide but this place is going downhill. There was a time that if you worked hard, it had decent pay and benefits and an autonomous job. Standard schedule 3-4 weekends out of 4-5 weekends a month. Constant turnover because they do very little now to incentivize long term employment. They have to hire inexperienced workers to maintain demand so they are beginning to treat everyone like elementary school children. Decreased pay for existing employees. Took away weekend shift differential pay with new policy. Told employees they would get it back with new policy but then only gave raise to people if they agreed to work every single weekend. So they actually got away with decreasing wages for the majority of employees without having to address it. New management and office workers who aren’t on warehouse floor, seem determined to create low morale for the workers who are in the warehouse. Very weird. Its already a constant rotation of losing long term people and new inexperienced workers to try to keep up with demand, few incentives to stay long term. It will continue to get worse. Every week they come up with new pointless policies that do nothing for the workers day to day in the job, except micromanage and create a demoralized environment. Such as policies on what beverage people may drink, you may not have coffee, soda or anything but water in your water bottle? Never heard of anything like this. Be aware If you need to make a phone call in private or if you are a smoker and it is raining, snowing or 100 degrees outside, be prepared to suffer the elements because you can no longer sit in your car or go anywhere. If you need to use the bathroom, you will need to get a hall pass or find a manager. Taking a lunch break is discouraged, you must ask permission to take one every day. All new policies within last year. Never heard of any warehouse job or company that has things like this except for maybe places that need to worry about loss prevention or people working with sensitive information, not grocery distribution. New cooler employees milk the clock taking half hour breaks so the entire warehouse has to pay for it. How fast you pick or how hard you work makes zero difference. Dont break your back. Bottom line is, slow pickers get paid the same amount as fast pickers for doing way less work.
