Pros

They pay good money (for a retail job...)

Cons

No time for anything. You're just running like a dog from your till to whatever you've been doing and than you just can't finish it because there's never enough manpower, and you know why? Because aldi is so cheap that they would rather watch you working out your soul than paying at least one extra staff member. The other funny thing is when they call you on you day off to come in as fast as you can (means max an hour....) and if you say no than they put your name in the "black book"... Not talking about sick payment... Yes, there is such thing but you're not really allowed to get sick unless you'd like to have some trouble with management.... Oh and management, they do nothing all day. They can have 30 minutes payed and 30 minutes unpayed brake but you can't. In fact, you don't even have payed brake even though it's in your contract. You HAVE to start 15 minutes before your shift (so you have to be there at least 30 minutes before your shift....) and you never finish in time, and they don't change the rota for 15 or 20 minutes.... This list could go on and on... I WOULD NEVER RECOMMAND ALDI TO ANYONE unless you want no life.

Pros

It started out as a good job with great benefits however these benefits turned sour rather fast.

Cons

lack of respects for employees, lack of training I was taken on as a assistant manager and told I would be trained in a store where all company standards were met. However into my training I was made aware of how physical this job was you are expected to pick up weight exceeding what you can physically carry the training was not adhered to as there was obvious racism and favoritism. no sense of customer satisfaction, poor work ethic. I would say Aldi is about twenty years behind other supermarkets almost as if you are working for a foreign country it is very strange and the management think they can talk to staff, customers and trainees like crap. no amount of money in the world would make me work like a dog Aldi is completely not what it makes out to be. Very unsociable hours compared to other supermarkets. In a ten hours shift on your feet all day long and your lucky if you get 15 minutes break. Worst job I ever had....
