Pros

opportunity to strengthen your resume

Cons

You will never fully succeed at this job. There is a preponderance of perpetual issues that upper mgmt brings to your attention daily. There is no work/life balance/ more realistically it is all work and no other life total imbalance and yet you still cannot succeed.

Pros

Full time benefits for part time work 18 hrs and up. Insurance provided at no cost to employee for individual coverage, minimal cost for family coverage.Decent start wage for type of work. You will never be bored as there is always something to be done.

Cons

Ridiculous amount of focus put on ring speed, to the detriment of products as well as employees.Caters to lower socio-economic levels thereby forcing you to deal on a daily basis with ridiculous people who can't seem to add to save their lives, let alone remember their PIN numbers.Customers are very flustered by the speed of checkout which leads to them being rude.On an average day there are 2 employees in entire store to handle both stocking and cashier duties, which means in order to function you must move at top speed 100% of the time.Breaks are taken in an 'as you can get them' fashion which often is in 2 minute increments.Hours fluctuate greatly based on sales predictions. You may have 38 one week and 15 the next.

Pros

Aldi does offer higher pay and better benefits than others in the market. It also saves you money on getting a gym membership.

Cons

Lack of opportunities for advancement. Once you are on one path then that's where you are staying. After running a store for a month have learned that district managers don't care about their managers. I was told that you just have to tell your family goodbye for a few weeks in order to get the job done. Not as family orientated as they once where and claim to be.
