Pros

+ Health insurance is one of the best. + 7 weeks of vacation. + French courses provided in groups. + Pays on time. + Some people are friendly and collaborative

Cons

- Promises at hiring interview which are never kept. - Probably the worst salaries amongst other consulting companies in the area. Better check with those, so that you know what you can make. - Salary proposal includes meal and transportation allowance. Make sure to distinguish them and calculate your salary when you're not in a project. - If you come from abroad, make your own survey about French taxation system and do not trust what ALTEN tells you. - Gender and origin discriminations are often. - Even if the customer gives ALTEN a raise for you, you'll most probably receive nothing. - Annual reviews are a waste of time for you, as your progress at work does not concern ALTEN. This agency only cares about you being "corporate". That means: give customer insights, provide them with CVs (actually do their work). - Often rejects training requested by customer. - Some managers cannot speak English.

Pros

- Interesting projects, -friendly colleagues -Can get good amount of responsibility and grow fast professionally speaking.

Cons

Sales driven. Management have unrealistic targets, the HQ has a toxic environment: The culture is that of being in the office the longest hours possible rather than demonstrate results, no work-life balance. Rude and obnoxious behaviour is praised. Micromanagment is ingrained and there is no trust. Graduates are hired to cold call companies, over-sell to both customers and candidates. Phylosophy of throw it all on the wall and see what sticks, similar to a recruitment agency. I witnessed non-compliances of GDPR (where a list of ex-contractors was "obtained" from a customer to poach them post IR35) alongside sexism, rude and unprofessional behavior from senior management. Funnily all the people I worked with are no longer in the company. They say they are growing (but they are just trying to maintain the headcount they have). It is a shame because they work with good customers and they have good revenue figures on paper. Candidates are also promised jobs that are virtually nonexistent (or from very weak leads) due to the awful amount of pressure management is put through. In extreme cases this has meant candidates had to relcoate to later find there is no job for them. And guess what, no relocation package whatsoever because they are a cheap company and end up firing them. Like this, they are on the verge of the law in many other operational aspects. Overall not a company that I would do business with nor work with.

Pros

- International organization - Central office locations in London - Benefits are good - private medical insurance/travel insurance etc. - It's good for 1y to gain internal recruitment experience but you will be treated a lot better elsewhere

Cons

- Very low salaries across all business functions for London based roles (makes it hard to recruit new joiners) and retain the ones they have (very high turnover) - Approach to WFH is terrible, they say it's flexible but you will need a good excuse to stay home. Ideally you will work from London 5 days per week. - Long hours (9-6 but you will be expected to work beyond this) - Recruitment is not very inclusive, Alten pride themselves on being a "young" organization so unless we are recruiting for leadership/senior positions most people have to be younger than the MD who's mid 40's. - Age, citizenship and education is a huge factor when it comes to recruiting in Alten UK if you're outside our desired "scope" regardless of your skill set you will not be considered - Part of the bonus is paid to you if you succeed in recruiting particular nationalities - is this even legal?
