Pros

Air conditioned, free movies, work with lots of people. Perfect job for a young adult in school.

Cons

Working holidays/weekends/nights can be a drag. There isn't room to get raises, pretty much no reward for working hard. Managers seemed to not notice who slacked off and who worked hard, and all of them had their favorites. Since there were absolutely no raises, working hard seemed moot, especially when coworkers would get away with doing nothing for a whole shift.

Pros

Everyone, including management is very friendly and the workplace has a good atmosphere. And being able to see free movies with my friends whenever I want is a giant plus, because I'm a film major.

Cons

Considering we have to learn at least 4 different jobs, deal with hundreds of people everyday, and give up most of our weekend EVERY week I think we should be paid at least $10 an hour. Also, they should provide better training for some of the jobs. They kinda just throw you in there. I wasn't properly trained for concessions. They didn't teach me how to use any of the machinery or even the fire extinguisher.

Unethical company

Pros

Flexible schedule, particularly as a General Manager, but you are required to work Friday nights and Saturday most of the day. I never used the free movie privilege because the last thing you want to do is go back to work to watch a movie. Fun working at different locations and meeting different people.

Cons

Vastly underpaid people throughout the company, from GMs down to crew. Managers in particularly are vastly underpaid which leads to hiring of horrible, unqualified talent. Company is unreliably unethical. GMs get away with unethical practices, theft, fraud, while others are terminated for trying to do the right thing. Getting promoted is about who you know and who likes you, and not based on your financial and theatre results. There is no work-life balance when you have to work Christmas Day, New years Eve, Thanksgiving Day, etc. There is no such thing as closing early.
