Pros

- Free tickets weekly (when you're able use them) - Free soda on the clock - Concessions discount, although not by much - The other employees are some of the best people I've ever met - The job itself is easy

Cons

Job: - Constant understaffing - Rude customers - Expect to work all weekend, every weekend - Large workload for the pay rate, which is minimum wage or slightly above - You're going to encounter people having sex in the theaters eventually Management: - Makes questionable decisions on the spot - will send people home on busy weekends - Repeatedly hires underage people despite a severe lack of people legally allowed to work closing shifts - Senior employees are paid less than new hires, which is responsible for a recent string of quits Corporate: - Will not let you work enough hours to be offered legal benefits - Does not offer holiday pay, and you WILL be scheduled holidays - With the recent buyout of Carmike Cinemas, AMC is closer to becoming a monopoly - Introduces large, sweeping changes with little to no warning, no consultation at the theater level, and no prior testing (see: premier/insider stubs split, the recent website redesign) - Gives management and crew little power within their own theater

Pros

Most part fun work environment. Free movies, paid vacation and sick days. Health benefits and a 401k. Popcorn lots of popcorn.

Cons

Difficult guests , below average pay, long hours, missed holidays with family. AMC Likes to operate in the gray area so you always have to bend rules for this time only.
