Pros

The potential for this to become a good company that cares about its employees does exist.

Cons

It's disheartening to observe that becoming a manager at this company seemingly doesn't require any technical skill or intellect. Instead, the default language used by many managers is centered around simplistic phrases like "we need to hit budget" and "we need to get utilization up." These generic buzzwords overshadow more critical conversations, such as addressing fair compensation issues by saying "we should pay market value" or recognizing the importance of work-life balance by acknowledging "life outside of work matters." This lack of depth in managerial discourse can hinder meaningful progress and lead to the neglect of crucial aspects that truly matter to employees

A Solid Company

Pros

AMETEK is a good company to work for overall. They continue to make efforts to be more inclusive and be competitive with progressive benefits, such as a hybrid work model (work from home and in the office). They are certainly not leading edge in this regard, by they aren't too slow to follow trends either. AMETEK's biggest draw is its stability as a company and consistent performance in the stock market.

Cons

As a company focused largely on stock market performance, it can feel as though there isn't much company culture. The focus is typically on the money, and not on the people. Any culture aside from financial gain, is left to the smaller teams to establish. So an employee's experience can vary greatly from team to team, or company to company within the AMETEK family.
